A born showmanAfter a colourful Brighton childhood, busking with his Dad and being the school joker, the bright lights of London beckoned for Sgt. Stone and he soon became another out of work actor! "My lowest point", he recalls "is when I spent a week in Safeways dressed up as a doughnut. I returned to Brighton and just sort of fell into doing Punch & Judy. It took a few weeks research - and another few messing around with paper mache 'n stuff - but I've never looked back. Sideways perhaps!"Sgt. Stone is one of the last Punch & Judy men in England and has performed his show on Brighton beach for the last 25 years. Visually his show is a great treat using handmade puppets that he made and repairs himself. In addition to his Brighton beach season, Sgt. Stone often appears on TV, film and radio and tours extensively with his puppet workshops and lectures on Punch's colourful history. He also organises parties and events for all!
